AR holds mega health camp at Shangshak

The 40 Assam Rifles on Wednesday organised a mega health camp at its helipad at Shangshak village under Kamjong district, drawing a large number of participants from over 10 neighbouring villages.
The event was part of Assam Rifles' commitment to fostering community health and strengthening bonds with local communities.
Recently, Assam Rifles launched a series of Mega Medical Camps in Kamjong district.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, DIG Sandeep Singh informed that the initiative taken up under the Operation Sadbhavna Project for the financial year 2024-25, aims to provide essential medical support to the remote villages in the region.
He said the extensive medical outreach covers seven villages across Kamjong district, each designated as a host for healthcare facilities.
The camps were designed to deliver medical consultations, treatments, and necessary medicines, bringing significant relief to remote areas with limited healthcare access.
"To support these camps, Assam Rifles has procured medicines and medical supplies worth Rs 10 lakh," the DIG said, exuding hope that the investment would help uplift the health and hygiene standards of the local population.
He also informed that similar camps had been held at Alang, Chamu, Mapum villages since November 9, adding that the final camps are set for November 15 at Punamram and K Asang Khullen villages, in the border region.
Over 700 people availed free medical treatments and medicines from the medical team comprising medicalofficers, three paramedics and female staff from Assam Rifles and Ukhrul District Hospital.
