Assam Rifles seizes 4.4 kg WIY tablets

Imphal, March 13 2025: Assam Rifles on Wednesday seized 4.4 kg of WIY tablets at the mobile vehicle check post established at New Shijang, Moreh in Tengnoupal district.

According to PRO IGAR (S), during a routine check, troops stopped a Yamaha Cygnus bike and on noticing the rider's suspicious behaviour a detailed inspection was conducted upon which four packets of WIY tablets, weighing approximately 4.4 kg was found concealed within the vehicle.

The seized narcotics are estimated to worth Rs 1.23 crore in the international market, the PRO informed, adding, the individual was immediately apprehended handed over to Moreh police along with the contraband seized for further investigation.
