Imphal, January 12 2025: The Guru Ningombam Leirenjao Centre of Pung presented its 4th annual award Guru Ningsing Mana-2025 to 'Guru' Ngairangbam Tomcha and 'Guru' Sapam Kullabi in a function held at the Khongman Zone-5 office of the centre on Sunday.

Art and Culture commissioner Mongjam Joy presented the award, which consists of Rs 10,000 cash, shawl, citation and a headgear (Kokyet) .

Speaking on the occasion, M Joy informed that San-geet.Natak Akademi had sent proposals with supporting documents to include Lai Haraoba in the UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List, and expressed hope that the same would evoke positive response.

He stressed the importance of conserving and promoting culture, tradition and heritage of Manipur while at the same time upholding good social conduct and moral values associated with Manipuri culture.

Khongman GP former pradhan M Nungshirei, Guru Ningombam Leirenjao Centre of Pung president Ksh Kunjo and several gurus and artistes were also present on the occasion.
