AR organises Yoga Capsule, awareness lecture

Assam Rifles organised Yoga Capsule for women and children on Monday at Pallel and in Kakching district.
Women and children of the Garrison participated in the event, which included a lecture on history of yoga, how it is entwined with Indian culture, its numerous benefits for women and children and ways to incorporate it for healthy lifestyle.
The participants learned and practiced various postures of specifically chosen to promote physical strength, flexibility, and balance, while also enhancing relaxation and mindfulness, according to a release of PRO IGAR (S).
In Chandel, Assam Rifles organised an awareness lecture and practiced various forms of Yogasanas for civilians of eastern Indo-Myanmar villages and troops deployed in forward location of the district in view of the upcoming International Day of Yoga.
During the event, a total of 200 locals, including children from border villages such as Joupi, Gampazol, Molcham, Phasanjang and Changpol practiced various Yogasanas, including Tadasana, Urdhva Hastottanasana, Dandasana, Bhadrasana, Padmasana, Vajrasana, Yogamudrasana, and Parvatasana, the release further said.
Assam Rifles has focused on the importance of Yoga in enhancing the physical and mental well-being of troops and has incorporated Yoga into the basic and routine training programmes of soldiers, it added.
