MACA inspects Govt institutions in Chandel

Members of Maha Area Chiefs Association (MACA) Chandel carried out inspections across different Governmental institutions in the district.
During the inspection, the MACA team, which included chiefs of many villages under MACA, discovered various shortcomings across the Government offices as well as the absence of some staff.
Some of the establishments that the MACA team assessed include District Hospital, Fire Sub Station, SDO Office, ADC Chandel, Chandel Forest Division, PHED Division.
Agriculture, Fishery, Horticulture, Employment Exchange, ZEO, MSPDCL, Treasury, Transport, Sericulture, Veterinary, CAF & PD and DC Office Chandel, among others.
The team took stock of the functioning of the departments, the prevalent shortcomings and scrutinized the work of incompetent staff.
After the inspection drive, MACA Chairman Js Angam Anal addressed media persons during a press meet held at MACA office.
Js Angam Anal informed that the MACA team discovered many Government officers missing from their respective offices in several Government departments under Chandel District Headquarters.
Additionally, the team also found that several Government offices were fraught with shortcomings.
Elaborating on this, he said that there is no specialist doctor (Medicine and Blood Bank) at Chandel District Hospital and only one vehicle at Chandel Fire Sub Station which is currently housed in a building with very poor infrastructure.
Additionally, there were no staff at Chandel DIC and a similar situation was witnessed at the DSO Office of CAF & PD, which was reportedly found locked, according to the MACA Chairman.
At the Exchange Office, the MACA team found employees working on contract basis.
Highlighting such shortcomings, including the shortage of employees, Js Angam Anal has called upon the relevant authority to address the issue.
He also urged the concerned officials to take prompt action to ensure that Chandel folks have access to potable water.
MACA will conduct such inspection drives twice every month, he informed.
