Two peddlers nabbed with 286 grams heroin

As a part of the 'War on drugs' campaign, a combined team of Bishnupur commando and personnel of Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station (PGCI) arrested two drug peddlers with 286 grams of heroin from an area in Kwakta ward no.8 along Gothol road on Saturday.
The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Lhumkhosei Haokip (37) son of Jamkhongam Haokip of 14-Hollenjang village, Khengjoy in Chandel district and Ngamkholen Khongsai (24) son of Limsei Khongsai of Leisam Tampak Samulamlan in Churachandpur district.
According to police, the combined team conducted routine frisking and checking duty at Kwakta ward no.8 along Gothol road and detained two individuals who came riding a Royal Enfield (Reddich G), bearing registration number MN02G/4459 for verification.
The checking led to recovery of 22 soap cases weighing 268 grams of heroin.
On verification, they disclosed that the soap cases were brought for selling to prospective buyers.
The arrested drug peddlers along with the seized items have been handed over to Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station for taking up further necessary legal action, it added.
