Nepali Sahitya Parishad celebrates

Nepali Sahitya Parishad Manipur (NSPM) celebrated its 43rd foundation day at Kanglatongbi community hall on Monday with retired professor Dr Tankanath Khatiwoda as chief guest and NSPM president Sita Devi Chhetry as functional president, while Manipur Gorkha Welfare Union (MGWU) former president Ram Bahadur Chapagain and NSPM ex-president Lok Bahadur Basnet were guests of honour.
The commemorative event was also attended by NSPM advisors, former executive members, Serving members and representatives of MGWU, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU), Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh, Nepali Sanskriti Suraksha Parishad Manipur, Manipur Gorkha Ex-Serviceman Association, Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat, youth clubs, women societies, well-wishers and public.

A poetry meet was held in which Sahitya Akademi awardee Suraj Chapagain, Devi Prasad Thapa, Santanu Kumar Limbu, Deepak Pantha, Hom Prasad Siwakoti recited their poems.
According to a release, NSPM is committed to uplift of Gorkha/Nepali language and make the younger generation value the Gorkha language.
It is purely a literary organisation, which publishes Nepali language books, articles, etc.
NSPM has so far published 12th edition of magazine 'Neti' and aims to publish its 13th edition at the earliest, it added.
