Sit-in demands release of Village Volunteers

Imphal, February 01 2025: Sit-in protest demanding punishment of police commandoes involved in killing of a village volunteer near Salungpham School in Thoubal district on December 14 and release of arrested village volunteers continues unabated.

On Saturday, Leitanpokpi Ima Meira Paibi Lup and Young Sporting Club jointly organised sit-in protest against the killing of village volunteer and demand for release of six arrested village volunteers at Leitanpokpi community hall under Khundrakpam AC.

During the sit-in, the protestors shouted and held placards inscribed with slogans like "We condemn the killing of village volunteers", "Stop arresting village volunteers", "Strict punishment for the police commandos involved"', "Repeal AFSPA from Manipur", "We condemn Salungpham killing", "Show bravado to narco-terrorists", and "Release arrested village volunteers without any condition" .
