Protests continue against Gwaltabi incident

Bpr/Tbl/Kak, May 28 2025: Various organisations sustained the people's movement in in different districts against the Gwaltabi incident.

Speaking to media persons, the protesters condemned the incident and reaffirmed the demand that the Governor tender apology to the people of the state, action taken against security forces involvedjn the incident and resignation the chief secretary, security advisor and DGP on moral ground.

During the protests held on Wednesday, the agitators chanted slogans such as 'Central government should not try to annihilate Manipur', 'Manipur cannot be divided into pieces', 'CS, SA and DGP should resign from their post', etc .

Protest against the Gwaltabi incident was organised by All Kamong Club Co-Ordinating Committee at Pukhramba Kajao Lampak community hall, Kamong, Imphal West district.

Similarly, Khongjom Circle Meira Paibi Lup organised sit-in protest at Khongjom.

Meanwhile, a torch rally was taken out protesting the same incident from Thongjao to Waikhong on Tuesday night.

The rally organised by Thongjao Meira Paibi and Waikhong Meira Paibi commenced from Thongjao Awang Leikai Public Ground and after passing through Waikhong Uyung Khunou ended at the starting point.
