Sensitization workshop on AB-PMJAY & CMHT held

Imphal, February 27 2025: State Health Agency Manipur organised a two-day sensitisation workshop on Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) at City Convention Centre, here, on Thursday.

Mention may be made that both AB-PMJAY and CMHT, launched in 2018, are health insurance schemes which provide free hospitalisation treatment to the poor and vulnerable families.

With the schemes approaching the seventh year of implementation, many eligible families have been benefitted under both the schemes.

Nevertheless, the schemes are yet to reach its saturation level in terms of enrolment and awareness regarding the various provisions contained for beneficiary empowerment as well as hospital operations.

In her speech, IEC manager Rinsophy Chamroy appealed to all to possess health cards, adding that for the state to develop, health of all individuals needs to be improved.

CMHT policy manager Dr Irengbam Bijeta Devi said that around 55 lakh people in the country are covered under AB-PMJAY scheme, with around 33 private and government hospitals empanelled to treat around 1948 different diseases.

The CMHT scheme has helped around 1.2 lakh people in the state avail treatment under the scheme which covers 1854 ailments.

So far, around Rs 264 crore have been dispersed under the scheme, she said and appealed all to avail benefits of these two schemes.

During the workshop, experts of State Health Agency namely, Irengbam Michael, Data Support & IT manager; Kh Jolita, trainer ISA; Dr N Pratapchandra, CMO, ISA; W San-toshi, grievance executive ISA; and Titus Gangmei, call centre lead ISA shared their insights on topics namely AB-PMJAY and CMHT in Health Insurance, Overview of AB-PMJAY and CMHT scheme in Manipur, PMJAY and CMHT Portals and Apps, Treatinent Packages under AB-PMJAY and CMHT and Grievances & Call Centre.

Media persons, para legal volunteers (PLVs) and Implementation Support Agency (ISA) AB-PMJAY and CMHT also participated in the workshop.

Interactive session between the participants and the experts of the State Health Agency along with distribution of certificates to the participants were the other highlights of the workshop.
