Students' rally protests transfer of teacher

Tamenglong, July 26 2024: Condemning the transfer order of Langmei Higher Secondary School, Tamei teacher Gwangngamdai to Bishnupur Higher Secondary School, students of the Tamei school took out a protest rally on Friday.

The rally demanding revocation of the transfer order was taken out from the school till Tamei Bazar from where the participants marched to the SDO's office and submitted a memorandum.

During the rally, students held placards inscribed with wordings like 'Supporting our teacher is supporting our future', 'You're the best ever teacher Sir Gwangngamdai', 'Let teachers teach not travel', 'Transfer policy a threat to education', 'It's the teachers that make the difference, not the classroom', 'Teachers are not transferable assets', 'We want our teacher's transfer to be immediately cancelled' and 'Stability in teaching, stability in learning' .
