Imphal, June 25 2025:
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has introduced several new and convenient patient-oriented digital facilities aimed at enhancing the hospital experiences and reducing waiting times for patients.
In a press release issued by its Media Cell, RIMS informed the introduction of Online Registration System (ORS), where patients can now book their OPD appointments online via the central government's ORS portal at www.ors.gov.in.
Upon successful booking, a unique Appointment ID will be generated, which must be produced at the OPD counter to obtain the OPD sheet.
This digital step would streamline the registration process and help avoid long queues.
The Institute also launched the Scan & Share Facility where patients can scan the QR code displayed at OPD counters using their mobile phones and wait for their token number to appear on the digital screen, thereby eliminating the need to stand in line and minimize waiting time at OPD registration counters.
Patients wanting to use the Scan & Share Facility must have Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID .
They can which create this ID either through the official ABHA mobile application or by visiting the ABHA ID Creation Counter available at RIMS.
Lastly, Token Dispenser Kiosks have been installed at the OPD premises, allowing patients to self-generate tokens for both OPD consultations and diagnostic investigations.
This user-friendly self-service option ensures correct entry of patient details and promotes better crowd management.
The RIMS administration urged all patients and visitors to make full use of these facilities for a more seamless and efficient hospital experience.
These upgrades mark a significant step forward in RIMS' mission to deliver tech-enabled, patient-centred healthcare in the region, the release conveyed.
