Imphal, November 23 2024:
In an effort to enhance healthcare access, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with doctors from the Indian Medical Association (IMA), organised a free medical camp at Lilong.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the event provided a wide range of healthcare services to local residents, many of whom have limited access to medical facilities in this remote area.
Amid the prevailing internal security challenges in the state, the camp attracted 18 specialist doctors from various parts of the country who flew in to offer their expertise and provide free healthcare services to the local populace.
The diverse range of medical professionals included dental surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, ophthalmologists, gynaecologists, skin specialists, physicians, paediatricians, ENT specialists, MDs in medicine, and nutritionists.
These specialists delivered free consultations and health screenings to address various medical concerns, from routine check-ups to specialised care, it stated.
The release further mentioned that over 1,200 men, women, and children from nearby villages attended the camp.
The event was further supported by the Lilong United Club Association, which played a crucial role in ensuring its success.
