COCOMI condemns transfer of doctors

Jiribam, August 22 2024: COCOMI Jiribam district women wing strongly condemned the transfer of doctors from the 50-bedded hospital in Jiribam in-spite of the fact that the lone healthcare facility has been facing shortage of doctors.

Speaking to media persons at Babupara office of HERICOUN Jiribam Council on Thursday, COCOMI Jiribam Women Wing convenor Thangjam Jini cautioned that Jiribam denizens shall not accept- the order issued by Health and Family Welfare joint secretary for transfer of three doctors from the Jiribam district hospital prior to posting of the replacement doctors.

Moreover, the order for transfer of CMO Dr Thiyam Bharat and appointment of Dr Okendro as CMO in-charge is unfortunate, she said.

Demanding revocation of the transfer order, she urged the government to retain Dr Bharat as the CMO.
