Royal Academy of Law turns 32

Royal Academy of Law, Oinam, a National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) B-grade academy in the state, celebrated its 32nd foundation day at the institute's seminar hall, on Friday.
The function, organised by NSS Cell of the academy in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, was attended by Bishnupur district and sessions judge Samom Ibjen Singh, Academy principal Eliza Maisnam and advocate Thokchom Hemchandra as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Addressing the gathering, justice Ibjen Singh lauded the institution for producing several distinguished personalities over the years, crediting such achievement to the dedication and selfless service of the faculty, as well as the hard work of students.
While highlighting the importance of having basic knowledge on the legal system, he cautioned that no individual is above the law of the land.
As human beings are governed by laws, every citizen must be made aware of their rights and responsibilities under the law, stressed the judge.
