Medal-winning MAKKA players feted

Thoubal, April 18 2025: Players of Manipur Amateur Kho Kho Association (MAKKA), who won medals at the 2nd North East Zone Junior Kho-Kho Championship 2024-25 and 57th Senior National Kho Kho Championship, were felicitated at a function held Friday at BASU office, Khangabok.

The championships were held from March 24 to 26 in Tinsukia, Assam, and from March 31 to April 4 in Puri, Odisha, respectively.

The programme organised by MAKKA was attended by District Olympic Association, Thoubal president M Mani, MAKKA vice president L Bijen, BASU vice president L Shyamo and SAI (NERC) Takyel, retired associate director Konsam Michael as the dignitaries on dais.

Delivering the keynote address, MAKKA general secretary Madhusudon congratulated the medallists and announced that a Summer Coaching Camp will be conducted in early May with the objective of nurturing promising sportspersons.

He also shared that while the camp was previously conducted across six locations, this year it will expand to 10 venues.

As a part of the felicitation programme, an exhibition match was held between players who competed at the 43rd Junior and 57th Senior Kho-Kho national championships.
