Foundation day of People's Museum, Kakching held

Kakching, January 18 2025: 44th foundation day of People's Museum, Kakching, which has been a pioneer in private museum in the state, was held at the museum at Kakching Paji Leikai Museum Pareng on Saturday.

The programme was attended by Sana Konung Uttra Sanglen 'Angom Ningthou' Angom Poireiton as chief guest, People's Museum Kakching's Board of Trustee president and Kakching ex-MLA Yengkhom Surchandra as president, Kakching Municipal Council caretaker chairperson Naorem Sanjitkumar as guest of honour along with People's Museum, Kakching secretary and founders (late) Mayanglambam Gourachandra's daughter M Merina.

The speakers at the event recalled the hardships faced by M Gourachandra in collecting the invaluable artefacts related to the history of various communities of the state.

He highlighted his immense contributions towards preserving Manipur's history along while appealing to the public to extend support in proper upkeep of this historical and cultural items and the museum.
