Drive to detect child labour underway in IE

Imphal, August 16 2025: A drive to detect child labour in hotels and workshops as part of the Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign 3.0 in connection with World Day Against Child Labour observance kicked off Saturday from additional SP Imphal East office.

The flag-off ceremony, organised by District Task Force, Imphal East under theme 'Progress Is clear, but there is more to do, let's speed up effort', was attended Porompat PS OC Chandrakumar, ZEO Imphal East Sucheta Khumukcham, District Child Protection Officer, Imphal East Konjengbam Anita and officials of District Child Protection unit, Imphal East.

The drive will continue till August 30 .

According to Konjengbam Anita, the drive will be carried out in shops, hotels and workshops located in all four blocks of the district namely Porompat, Sawombung, Keirao Bitra and Heingang.

Necessary legal action will be initiated against defaulters while Child Welfare Committee will initiate welfare activities of rescued children, if any, she added.
