Nutritional foods distributed to TB patients

Thoubal, January 15 2025: As part of the 100-day campaign under the National Tuberculosis Eliminating Programme (NTEP), nutritional foods were distributed to 42 tuberculosis (TB) patients of the district at the conference hall of Thoubal deputy commissioner (DC) on Wednesday.

Speaking at the programme organised by NTEP, Thoubal unit, DC Ahanthem Subhash informed that the edibles were distributed under the 'Nikshay Mitra Poshan Yojana', which provides nutritional support to TB patients during their six-month treatment period through donation by 'Nikshay Mitra'.

Mentioning that the food items distributed Wednesday were sponsored by chairpersons and members of Zilla Parishad and Gram Panchayats of the district acting as 'Nikshay Mitra', he thanked them for their support as 'Nikshay Mitra'.

The function was also attended by Thoubal ZP chairperson KhSobha, Charangpat ZP member Sougrakpam Japan, Leirongthel Ningel GP chairperson Salam Kumar, Wangbal GP chairperson N Somarendro, district TB officer Dr Shameen and district TB coordinator Thongam Stephee.
