COCOMI wing condemns threat to Ichanthoi

Imphal, October 13 2024: The Women's Wing of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has strongly condemned the abduction attempt and threats to RK Ichanthoi recently.

Addressing the media at its Lamphel office, here, on Sunday, COCOMI Women's Wing assistant coordinator RK Tharaksana expressed deep concern over the incident.

It is deeply troubling that while many are fighting for justice, some individuals resort to intimidation, particularly against women amid the current crisis, she said while terming the act as unacceptable.

The attempted abduction has highlighted the increasing threats faced by women involved in activism, she said and reaffirmed its commitment to defending the rights and safety of women.

The Wing called on the authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to book, stressing the need to protect women from such intimidation tactics.
