Three BSF troopers die in accident

Senapati, March 11 2025: Three personnel belonging to 37 Bn BSF lost their lives and 14 others suffered injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Changoubung village under Kangpokpi district.

The incident occurred around 3:15 pm Tuesday when the BSF troopers were returning back from duty at Keithelmanbi to their HIT, Mayangkhang base camp.

In all 16 personnel were reportedly in the village apart from the driver.

Of the injured seven personnel have been referred to Imphal for further treatment.

Sources said that two personnel died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries at Senapati district hospital.

Details of the deceased and cause of the accident remain unknown till the filing of this report.
