Arambam Somorendro remembered

Thoubal, June 10 2024: The 24th death anniversary of Arambam Somorendro was commemorated by Chingdompok Ideal Top Youth Club, Heirok Part-II Litan Makhong, at the local playground on Monday.

As part of the tribute event, a Mukna competition, the indigenous wrestling was organised to promote the game between Kakching Pana and Heirok Pana.

During the event, participants observed a two-minute silence and paid floral tributes to Arambam Somorendro's photograph.

The observance was attended by the Pambei-led UNLF finance secretary Irengbam Tonsana, Chingdompok Ideal Top Youth Club president Ningthoujam Ibomcha as chief guest and president respectively while Thoubal Zilla Parishad Kh Sobha, Heirok Zilla Pari-shad member M Rajmani, Pambei-led UNLF chief of Army staff Khwairakpam Khomba, pradhans of Heirok Part-I, II and III, UPACO president Mayengbam Premjit, FOCS president Th Manihar, vice-president BM Shah and village volunteer M Khaba were present as guests of honour.

Irengbam Tonsana, in his address, highlighted the contributions made by Arambam Somorendro for the welfare of the state.

He also expressed gratitude to the organisers for arranging the 'Mukna' game, which holds cultural importance as an indigenous sport of Manipur.
