"Mareibak Ningba Herachandra" declared Best Film

Imphal, April 09 2025: The winners of the 16th Manipur State Film Awards (MSFA) 2025 were announced during a function held at the Manipur State Film Development Society, Palace Gate, on Wednesday.

The awards were declared by Art and Culture commissioner Mongjam Joy.

The award for Best Playback Singer (Female) went to Ng-anthoibi Ningthoujam for the film 'Thambal', while Arbin Soibam was adjudged best male singer for 'Tamphamani'.

Rewben Mashangva was awarded Best Lyrics for "Joseph's Son", and Tenao HD received the Best Background Music award for "Mareibak Ningba Herachandra" .

Best Make-up was awarded to Abujam Ragini Devi and Wangjam Chandrima for "Mareibak Ningba Herachandra" .

The Best Editing award was shared by Sankha for "Joseph's Son" and Yoimayai for "Mareibak Ningba Herachandra" .

In the audiography category, Loitongbam Sunil and Bony Ningthouja won Best Sound Design for 'Herachandra', while Sabyasachi Pal was awarded Best Location Sound Recordist for "Joseph's Son" with the same film also fetching Joydeep Bose the Best Cinematography honour.

Lamnganbi Laishram was named Best Child Artiste and Rina the Best Supporting Actress title for 'Thambal', while Yengkhom Ingocha took home the Best Supporting Actor award for "Mareibak Ningba Herachandra" .

Pilot was awarded Best Actor (Male) for Mareibak Ningba Herachandra, while Pinky won Best Actor (Female) for Thambal.

The Best Adapted Screenplay award went to Haobam Pabankumar and Sudhir Naorembam for "Joseph's Son" .

Sh Inaocha Sharma was recognised as Best Art Director for 'Thambal', Haobam Pabankumar received the Best Director award for "Joseph's Son" with "Mareibak Ningba Herachandra" declared as the Best Film.
