One dies in Churachandpur district accidents

CCpur, February 09 2025: A series of accidents occurred in Churachandpur district on Saturday night resulting in one fatality, according to sources.

In the first incident, a Bolero Jeep carrying four passengers overturned after the driver lost control after hitting a road safety signage at Lingsiphai village, near the Jubilee stone along the Tiddim Line.

One passenger, Lamminlun, son of Lamsuanthang of Mata, lost his life on the spot, while the remaining passengers sustained minor injuries.

Around the same time, at Bethel/Khomoi village along the same route, a Bolero Jeep (MN02B/4264) and a Swift car were involved in a head-on collision.

However, reports indicate that there were no serious injuries.

In another incident at New Lamka, another Bolero Jeep reportedly overturned, as per sources.

Later around 1:30 am near Young Learners School, a fire broke out at the residence of one Zosanglur due to explosion of three gas cylinders.

Fortunately, firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it spread to nearby homes.
