CPU Kakching celebrates 3rd Anniversary

Kakching, November 05 2021: Kakching District Police organised the 'Annual Celebration' of Cycle Patrol Unit Kakching to mark its 3rd anniversary, along with observance of Community Policing Day at the ground of Wangoo Lamkhai Police Out Post on Friday.

The programme was attended by Kakching SP Victoria Yengkhom, Additional SP (Law & Order) Yumnam Joyraj, Additional SP (CPCR) Athokpam Romendro, SDPO Konjengbam Gitchandra, OCs of police stations in Kakching District, Out Post Commanders and personnel.

Representatives of various clubs, organisations, CSOs and NGOs of Kakching district were also present on the occasion.

As part of the programme, Kakching District Police presented gifts to representatives of clubs, organisations, CSOs and media persons.

Awards were also presented to three best performing Cycle Patrol Teams, namely Cycle Patrol Teams of Wangoo Lamkhai, Wangoo PS and Waikhong PS, which bagged the first, second and third place respectively.

Prizes of the Painting Competition organised for students by 7 Police Stations in Kakching (Kakching, Sugnu, Wangoo, Waikhong, Hiyanglam, Arong Nongmaikhong and Pallel) in connection with Police Commemoration Day-2021 on October 23 were also distributed during the programme.

In all, 84 students in the age group of 10-15 years participated in the competition which was conducted on the theme of "Role of Police in Nation Building".

Ch Langlensana (Pallel High School), Khumukcham Johnshibala Devi (Grace Cottage Academy, Kakching) and Pukhrambam Linthoi Devi (Marry Immaculate Catholic School, Kakching) won the first, second and third prize respectively.

Laishram Sushilkumar Meitei (Elite Children's English School Chairel), Leishangthem Kalpana Chanu (M Ganga Academy Sugnu), Albina Sanasam (Elang Keinya High School Elangkhanpokpi), Elang bam Thoihenbi Devi (Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai), Rani Thingnam (Gems Academy Kakching Khunou), Amom Lanchenbi Devi (Wangoo Higher Secondary School) and Silkay Naorem (Grace Cottage Academy, Kakching) received consolation prizes.

Speaking on fhe occasion, SP Victoria Yengkhom stressed the need for community policing to improve the relationship between the police and the people.

As such, the Cycle Patrol Unit has proved beneficial for the district as peace and tranquility has been restored in the district.

She then appreciated the support and cooperation of the people of the district including clubs, organisations and CSOs in this regard.
