AMBADA to boycott BJP in 2022 polls

CCpur, August 05 2021: While alleging that promise made to the association by BJP particularly Benjamin HS Mate before the 2019 parliamentary election regarding implementation of BADP programmes is yet to materialise till date, All Manipur Border Area Development Association (AMBADA) has announced boycott of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the forthcoming election 2022.Churachandpur branch AMBADA president G Khamkhohau said in a statement that the then Outer Manipur BJP candidate Benjamin Mate in 2019 begged for holding a meeting with AMBADA wherein he pleaded for withdrawal of the boycott call and promised at his personal capacity and on BJP's behalf that the government of Manipur order No 4.8.2017-18 BADP pig dated 18/7/2018 will be cancelled.

During that time, Benjamin also stated that regardless of outcome of the parliamentary election, he will be key and vital member of BJP and promised to exercise all his power and influence for cancellation of the said order.

However, the order remains in force till date and patience of AMBADA has run out arid lost trust in Benjamin and the BJP and ultimately decided to boycott the party, the statement added.
