Bishnupur, June 03 2025: Nambol MLA Th Basanta Kumar initiated distribution of relief materials to 197 flood affected families of Nambol Sabal Leikai under Nambol Municipal Council Ward No 10 on Tuesday.

The distribution of essential items was carried out by Nambol SDO T Shyamkumar, SDC Th Shambhu-nath, BJP.

Nambol Mandal president A Jiten and social worker N Chingkhei, among others.

Speaking to media persons in connection with the distribution, Jiten recounted that MLA Th Basanta had initiated dredging of the Nambol river bed up to Toubul village during the dry season.

While noting that the present flood situation is due to overflowing of the river at Konthoujam and Balaram villages, he also assured to visit the flooded areas at Nambol Maibam Chingmang and provide essential items to the affected after consulting with Bishnupur district administration.
