Displaced children perform Thang-ta, dance

Displaced children showcased Thang-Ta and dance performances learned during a seven-day workshop organised by Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) from April 15 at the relief camp set up at Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboi Khongnangkhong, Uripok-Kangchup Road, Imphal.
The programme held under the supervision of Department of Art and Culture was attended by PAI.
director and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee N Tiken, Art and Culture director K Dinamani, and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardees Arambam Tombinou Devi and Sougrakpam Hemanta among others.
Speaking at the programme, SPIC MACAY Manipur president W Ibomcha informed that it is a non-government and non-profit society working for the promotion of dance among the youth.
The seven-day workshop was attended by 100 displaced children residing in the relief camp, he added.
