Duo arrested in cybercrime racket

Imphal, August 02 2025: Two individuals involved in cybercrime racket were arrested by Manipur police on Friday.

They have been identified as Bikram Basumatary (31) of Barpeta, Assam and Sudem Basumatary (35) of Chirang, Assam.

According to a press note issued by the Manipur Police Control Room, police arrested the duo from near ISBT, Khuman Lampak on July 31.As per the investigation, both Bikram and Sudem are part of a criminal network.

They are tasked with collecting Aadhaar and bank account details.

The mule bank accounts associated with them, were found to have been used to commit economic offences in various states, as was found on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.
