Imphal, June 01 2024: Combined security forces seized arms and ammunition including bombs during search operations conducted at different parts of the state on Saturday.

A combined team of Assam rifles and Saikul police conducted search operation at H Champai village in Kangpokpi district and recovered arms including bombs.

The combined team launched the search operation from 8am to 10:45 am.

During the operation, one 7.62mm AK 56, one 9mm carbine, two 9mm pistols (country made), one 4mm pistol (made in India), two IEDs, one tear smoke shell, two rounds of 12 bore illumination, one 2-inch mortar illumination, one two-inch mortar smoke, one CMG bayonet and 14 tube launch were seized.

The seized arms and ammunition have been handed over to Saikul police station.

Meanwhile, AR Tamenglong Battalion seized arms including bombs during search operation conducted at Tamlok village in Noney district on Saturday.

The seized arms included two carbine machine guns, two 9mm pistols along with magazines, three .32 pistols, one revolver, one Chinese hand grenade, one detonator, six 9mm rounds, six .32 rounds, one radio set and one IED.

The seized arms have been subsequently handed over to Noney police station for initiating necessary legal actions.
