World Hospice and Palliative Care Day observed

The World Hospice and Palliative Care Day 2021 was organised jointly by Indian Medical Association South East Manipur (IMA-SEM) Branch and Palliative Care Society Imphal (PCSI) at Jivan Hospital auditorium, Kakching Lamdong on Sunday.
The event observed under the theme "Ten Years since the Resolution: How we are doing" was held along with an awareness programme on palliative care with retired IPS officer Mayanglambam Sushilkumar and IMA-SEM president Dr Kshetrimayum Manglem, who is also the PCSI president, as chief guest and president respectively while PCSI's Dr N Subodha and member Dr RK Mangala were the guests of honour.
Students of YN College of Nursing, Kakching and YN College of Paramedical Sciences, doctors and staff of Jivan Hospital, and members of Indian Medical Association South East Manipur (IMA-SEM) Branch were present during the awareness programme.
IMA-SEM secretary Dr Naorem Ajit spoke on "Pain Management in Palliative Care", and PCSI member Dr Mangala on "Spirituality in Palliative Care", while National Programme for Palliative Care (NPPC) -National Health Mission Manipur SNO Dr L Tilakeswari spoke on the topic "Impact of National Programme for Palliative Care in Manipur" .
