Medical camp conducted, snake-bitten trio saved

Indian Army organised a medical camp at Makhan village in Kangpokpi district on Wednesday.
In a release, PRO Defence said that a team of Indian Army doctors and nursing staff provided medical consultation and treatment of basic ailments to the villagers.
Medicines were also provided during the camp attended by over 100 people including women, children, and elders.
The camp also educated residents through an awareness lecture about hygiene, sanitation and prevention of lifestyle and contagious diseases, apart from a presentation on the problem of drug abuse to raise awareness and highlight its ill effects.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles saved the lives of snakebite victims in several incidents across the state.
On June 25, Assam Rifles personnel responded swiftly to a snakebite emergency in Keithelmanbi Garrison, Imphal West district.
K Shyamjas (63) of Kachikhul village, was bitten by a snake while working in a paddy held.
The AR personnel administered vital first aid and saved his life.
Earlier on June 23, Assam Rifles medical staff in Bishnupur district provided crucial assistance to Salam Nilachandra (63), and H Devla Devi (38), who were bitten by snakes while working in fields.
The team promptly examined the wounds, administered essential care, and referred the victims to the district hospital for further treatment, ensuring their stabilization, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release.
