KNF duo held on extortion charges

Imphal, August 25 2021: A team of Kangpokpi police station on Tuesday arrested two active cadres of KNF (SoO group), who were extorting money from a woman transporting fish from Kangpokpi Bazar, while also assaulting the driver of the transporting Maruti Van.

The arrested cadres have been identified as KNF self-styled corporal Kaikhohao Kipgen alias John (36) s/o (L) Jangkholam Kipgen of J Songtun Village and self-styled private Ngamgouthang Sitlhou alias Jacob (27) s/o Seijangul Sith hou of Wakotphai Village, presently residing in Kangpokpi Ward No 4.According to a police report, the Kangpokpi PS team arrested the duo from Kangpokpi Bazar on Tuesday afternoon for not only extorting money from a woman transporting fish to the market but also assaulting the driver of Maruti Van transporting the fish.

Kangpokpi PS has registered a case in this regard, the report conveyed.
