RIMS Swachhta Students' Camp concludes

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal concluded its 3-Day Swachhta Students' Camp held from January 23 to January 25, 2025 .
Organised under the theme 'Swabhav Swachhta - Sanskar Swachhta,' the initiative aimed to instill values of cleanliness, sustainability, and community participation among 150 students from schools across Manipur, said a press release from the RIMS, Imphal.
The camp featured a range of educational programmes, including expert-led sessions on infection control, hand hygiene, oral health care, and proper waste management.
To promote environmental stewardship, practical activities such as tree plantation drives and waste segregation exercises were organised.
Students also participated in creative competitions, including poster-making, slogan-writing, quizzes, yoga & meditation and painting competition, emphasising behavioural transformation and cultural values.
Interactive discussions with educators, healthcare professionals, environmentalists, and social activists encouraged dialogue on climate change and individual responsibility.
The event concluded with a ceremony celebrating the participants' efforts.
Students were awarded the RIMS Swachhta campaigner badge and certificates, recognising their contributions and inspiring them to act as ambassadors for cleanliness and sustainability, it continued.
The camp proved to be a pivotal initiative in advancing the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission by empowering students with the skills and knowledge to lead by example.
Aligned with the prime minister's vision of prioritising cleanliness as a national priority, the programme blends awareness, action, and responsibility, fostering a cleaner and healthier India by instilling values that extend to families, schools, and communities, the release added.
