SHAL celebrates foundation day

Imphal, August 23 2024: Sheirengbasingee Apunba Lup (SHAL) celebrated its foundation day along with observing the 14th Sheirengbasingee Numit at Manipur Press Club, here, on Friday.

During the celebration, SHAL presented lyricist of the year 2023 award to Khaidem Imo, music composer of the year 2023 award to Yumnam Suren and singer of the year 2023 award to Yangnu Golmei.

For 2024, lyricist of the year award was handed over to Hawaibam Jandho and Huidrom Noren, music composer award to Thoudam Kameshor Singh and Ak Yanggoi, singer of the year to Sagolsem Sanathoi and Heisnam Raghumani and Moirangthem Pishak Tombi Ningshing Mana to Mayanglambam Sumati for her book 'Ho Purnima Hi-yangeigi Purnima'.

The awards carry cash, shawl and citation.

A book titled, 'An anthology of Sheitharol' edited by Doneshwar Kongam and a Song written by Waikhom Bihari and sung by Wareppam Kumar Khumancha were also released on the occasion.

The programme was attended by former minister Bijoy Koijam, SHAL vice president Devjani Yumnam, AIR Imphal programme executive Heikhrujam Debendra, Health Services senior MO Dr Naorem Rameshwar and social worker Thingbaijam Swarankumar as presidium members.
