Joint team checks retail fuel outlet

Senapati, August 22 2024: A surprise check was carried out at the Essar filling station by a combined team from Karong Senapati Town Committee (KSTC), District Consumer Club, and District Police on Thursday.

The inspection came after complaints about poor quality or adulterated fuel being sold at that fuel outlet in Senapati district.

Speaking to the media after the inspection, KSTC secretary Hekhini Bata informed that the surprise checking was conducted in response to complaints from several consumers about poor quality of fuel.

However, after checking the density, temperature, challan and tank sample col lections, the fuel, including petrol and diesel sold at the petrol pump was found to be normal without much difference, he added.

The surprise checking was carried out using necessary testing kits at the petrol pump.

The KSTC members also mentioned that the team would conduct such surprise checks on other petrol pumps operating in the district in near the future as per complaints from consumers.
