AR reaches out to IDPs, Tengnoupal locals

Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Oinam IDP relief camp, Bishnupur district on Monday, providing essential medical services to 423 people, including women and children, and teachers and students of Oinam Degree College and local schools.
During the camp, ENT specialist, orthopaedic specialist and senior medical officers of AR diagnosed the patients of Oinam IDP camp and locals, said PRO IGAR (S), adding that blood sugar tests were also conducted for people above 45 years of age.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match between troops and youth of B Bong jang village on October 19, which ended 3-2 in favour of AR.
Post-match interactions enhanced bond between the AR and 60 villagers present, fostering trust and understanding, said the PRO in another release.
AR also carried out comprehensive fogging and mosquito control drive at Eklavya Model Residential School in Moreh, drawing participation of 100-150 students and staff, in the joint effort to curb mosquito-borne diseases and promote a safe learning environment.
On Sunday, AR organised an awareness campaign on the 1962 Indo-China War at B Bongjang village.
The session, attended by 35 villagers, highlighted the bravery and sacrifices of Indian soldiers, cultivating national pride and educating the community about India's military history.
This effort aims to inspire a deeper respect for the armed forces and a greater understanding of the nation's defence legacy, the release further stated.
