High yielding paddy seeds distributed

Imphal, June 21 2021: Extending help in acknowledgement of their contribution to the society 150 farmers of Khurai assembly constituency were provided high yielding paddy seeds social worker Khuraijam Ratankumar on Monday.

According to Ratankumar, high yielding paddy seeds were distributed to farmers in view of suffering they encountered during COVID-19 pandemic and such assistance to farmers will continue in future.

Meanwhile, our Thoubal correspondent informed that high yielding paddy seeds were also distributed to farmers of Thoubal district free of cost on Monday.

The distribution was made as part of agriculture department's initiative taken up under the aegis of agriculture minister O Lukhoi to enhance paddy yield and make the state self-sufficient in food production.

The distribution was made during a simple function organised by District Agriculture Office, Thoubal at its premises wherein 50 farmers from 10 circles of Thoubal were provided high yielding paddy seeds by District Agriculture Officer N Joykumar.

Farmers who could not collect paddy seeds during the distribution function may collect the same through AO concerned, Joy-kumar informed.
