Farmers' training programme held

Imphal, March 21 2025:
The Department of Life Sciences (Botany), Manipur University with the sponsorship of ICAR-National Institute for Plant Biotechnology IARI Campus, Pusa, New Delhi inaugurated the "Job's Tears (Coix lacryma-jobi L) Village Seed Bank and Field Gene Bank" .
And organised a one-day farmers' training programme on the topic "Cultivation and Production of Job's Tears (Coix lacryma-jobi L.) Seeds", at Kang-Shang (Kang complex) in Manipur University, Friday.
The programme was attended by Manipur University VC Prof N Lokendra Singh; School of Life Sciences dean Prof Debananda Singh Ningthoujam; Extension Education, CAU director Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma; and College of Food Technology, CAU dean Prof Ng Iboyaima Singh as the presidium members.
In his speech, Prof N Lokendra stressed the need for conducting researches which would help in socio economic transformation of the society, and appealed to students and researchers alike to be sincere and persistent in their efforts.
