Body seeks support for memorial site of 13 brave-hearts

13 Victims' Families Committee has urged the people to extend all possible help in developing a memorial site of 13 brave hearts, who were killed by Kuki militants at Leithao village in Tengnoupal district on December 4, 2023 .
Speaking to media persons at Andro Khunou Torongthel, the final resting place of the 13 brave hearts, convenor of the committee Laishram Ningthou reminded that the 13 brave hearts took important roles in protecting the integrity of Manipur from the attacks of Kuki militants.
The news about the brutal killing of the 13 brave hearts shocked the people of the land, he recalled.
Cortege of mourners flooded Andro Khunou Torongthel where the bodies Were buried and the 'Lanna Thouram' was performed at the same place.
With the money donated by public on the occasion of 'Lanna Thouram', construction of a memorial site for the 13 brave hearts has begun by the committee, he informed.
Along with the construction of memorial site, the committee is planning construction of few other structures which will be useful for the people.
For this the approval of Koireng and Andro Khunou Torongthel villages has been taken, he continued, while adding that the final resting place of the brave hearts will be developed properly and carefully so that researchers can even conduct research in later years.
A community hall, museum with a library and a park are also being so that their roles will never be forgotten by the future generations.
Stating that they will accept all forms of sincere help and donations, Ningthou said that those who want to provide raw materials can visit Andro Khunou Torongthel and monetary help can be donated through Gpay no 8416039384 under the account holder name Anandi Laishram.
