Construction committee formed for Meetei Yumpham in Delhi

Imphal, January 20 2025: The Delhi Meetei Co-ordinating Committee (DMCC) and Meetei Yumpham Trust (Delhi) organised a discussion on the culture and tradition of Manipur on Sunday at South Delhi and formed a construction committee for setting up a Meetei Yumpham in the national capital.

According to a statement of DMCC, following the discussion, it was unanimously resolved to establish the first-ever Meetei Yumpham in Delhi, which will serve as a "Sacred Space, A Cultural Hub, and a Community Heart" .

The meeting emphasised the need to create a cultural haven in the heart of a bustling metropolis like Delhi.

The Meetei Yumpham (Delhi) will be more than just an initiative; it will stand as a testimony to the collective spirit and a beacon for cultural activities.

The Meetei Yumpham will be graced by the temple of Lainingthou Sanamahi and Eputhou Pakhangba.

The Meetei Yumpham Construction Committee (Delhi) was formed during the meeting to oversee the establishment of the Yumpham with the support of the public.

Additionally, the Core Committee members (executive members) of the Women's Wing, DMCC were also constituted Khumanthem Narmada Devi as convenor and Dr Sarungbam Yaiphabi as co-convenor, the statement added.
