Bishnupur, April 19 2025: The Sangai First Foundation organized a one-day school students' sensitization programme on Sangai Day at Chingmei High School, Chingmei Awang, near Keibul Lamjao FloatingNational Park today under the theme "Let's Know Our Sangai, Let's Save Our Sangai" .

Today's event was graced by Dr Kh Samungou, Managing Trustee; L Biramangol Singh, Director, Manipur Zoological Garden; K Jugeshor, Trustee, and N Binoy, National Teacher's Awardee and Headmaster of Chingmei High School, said a press release issued by Budha Khwairakpam, media coordinator, Sangai First Foundation.

On the occasion, L Biramangol shared vital insights on the Sangai's natural and secondary habitats and its presence in zoos across India.

He also donated informative booklets to the school library.

Meanwhile, K Jugeshor emphasized the importance of engaging young minds in Sangai conservation and sustainable ecosystem practices.

Dr Kh Samungou also donated 12 of his authored books on Manipur's wildlife and ecology.

The gathering took a pledge to conserve the Sangai and the environment.

A spot quiz saw 71 student participants, with 7 winners to be awarded on Sangai Day on December 10 .
