CAU, PIB/CBC celebrate 78th Independence Day

Imphal, August 16 2024: Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal celebrated the 78th Independence Day on Thursday at its Lamphelpat headquarters.

The celebration led by varsity's vice chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra was attended by registrar Dr Tilak Raj Sharma, Instruction director professor Indira Sarangthem, Research director Dr Lalita M Garnayak, Extension education director professor Ph Ranjit Sharma, and College of Food Technology dean professor Ng Iboyaima Singh along with other officials and staffers.

As part of the celebration, a Har Ghar Tiranga rally comprising the vice-chancellor, officials and staff was also taken out around the headquarters after the flag hoisting ceremony.

As in the rest of the country, offices of Imphal-based Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), celebrated the 78th Independence Day on Thursday at CBC's Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak office.

During the ceremony, director of the two Central government offices, Dr Engam Pame, unfurled the tri-colour.

The celebration also featured a variety of activities, including singing of patriotic songs, essay competition, and extempore speech competition in Hindi.
