AR provides medical aid to snake-bite victim

Imphal, June 16 2024:
Assam Rifles provided emergency medical aid to one Lalneithang, 60, of Tuilaphai village, Hengkot, Churachandpur district on June 15, 2024.According to PRO IGAR (S), the individual was referred from District Hospital, Churachandpur to Unit Hospital of Assam Rifles with a complaint of snake bite from a suspected poisonous bamboo viper while working at farm land in Tuilaphai village.
On arrival at unit hospital, the patient was evaluated, subsequent tests confirmed poisonous effect of the snake bite.
The timely life-saving medical assistance by the medical team was provided by administering an anti-snake venom vaild (ASV).
All necessary procedures and medications were administered to the patient, it further said.
The case was discussed with the Churachandpur district hospital authorities, and the patient was transferred to the hospital by ambulance for admission and further treatment, added the PRO in a release.
