Longjam Joychandra listed for Babure Award

Imphal, July 07 2024: Author, translator and critic Longjam Joychandra has been selected for the Babure Taramani Memorial National Award presented by the Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura.

A release issued by the Forum informed that the award consisting of Rs 10,000 cash, shawl and certificate will be handed over on August 25 in Agartala.

It further informed that a meeting conducted by the forum on June 23 resolved to confer 'Lifetime Achievement Award 2024' to Maitham Shirmani Singh for his role in promoting Pung-Ishei and Ningombam Asha Singh (dance) and Mayengbam Pradhot Singh (literature) for 'Khoislam Bangabir Memorial Young Talent Award 2024' .
