AR contains wildfire, aids injured driver

Imphal, March 06 2025:
A forest fire broke out near Khongnang Phaisabi village under Kakching district at around 2:40 pm on March 4, rapidly spreading across the area and posing a threat to security posts of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police.
A team from Assam Rifles, equipped with fire extinguishers, fire beaters, and buckets, promptly arrived at the site to initiate firefighting operations.
In coordination with personnel from Manipur Police, Forest Department, Fire Services, efforts continued through the night to contain the fire.
By the following morning, the fire was successfully brought under control, preventing major damage to the forest and safeguarding security infrastructure, elaborated PRO IGAR (S) in a release.
On the other-hand, a team of Assam Rifles provided medical assistance to a driver who had a road accident along National Highway 2 near Puni Pfesemai village in Senapati on Thursday.
Based on inputs about the accident, severe injuries suffered by the driver and extensive damage to the TATA dumper truck he was driving, Assam Rifles promptly deployed a recovery team and medical personnel to the spot.
The troops retrieved the vehicle, implemented effective traffic control measures, and provided immediate medical assistance to the injured driver before evacuating him to the District Hospital in Senapati for further treatment.
