Jiribam, August 03 2025:
The JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Eight Innocent Villagers, along with victims' families and public have demanded arrest and death penalty of all involved in the murder of two persons at Borobekra sub-division, Jiribam district, and kidnapping and killing of six persons including three children.
Addressing the media at Jiribam Higher Secondary School, Babupara relief camp on Sunday, JAC convener Y Sanjoy welcomed arrest of two persons by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the killing of eight people in November 2024 in Jiribam.
Claiming that the day when the attack was carried out, more than 30 people were involved, he demanded that rest of the perpetrators be arrested and given capital punishment.
Sanjoy also emphasised that the attack was not targeted towards one house but the whole community, despite the presence of CRPF camp.
Hence, authority concerned should arrest all the culprits at the earliest and hand them death sentences, he reiterated.
The press meet was also attended by JAC members, victims' families and internally displaced persons from Borobekra sub-division.
