JAC suspends NH-37 economic blockade

Imphal, December 31 2024: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of JJM/NDB, representing Tousem and Tamenglong blocks, has announced relaxation of the indefinite economic blockade imposed along the NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam) .

The blockade enforced since December 27, 2024, was lifted with effect from 6 pm of December 30, following an agreement reached between Vishnu Prakash R Punglia Ltd (VPRPL) and local facilitators, Akhon Kamei and TP Sangjiuy-iung, to clear the pending bill by January 7, 2025, without exception.

The relaxation also takes into consideration public grievances ahead of New Year celebrations, according to a press release issued by the JAC, JJM/NDB.

It, however, cautioned that intense agitation would be launched if the agreed terms are not fulfilled.

Meanwhile, individuals whose goods were secured by bandh volunteers are advised by the JAC to collect them from its office at Oinamlong before January 2.2025, or to call 8787895291 .
