AR organises 'Samman Samaroh'

The Assam Rifles on Friday conducted 'Samman Samaroh' (honouring ceremony) to recognise and celebrate the dedicated service of its retired personnel at Assam Rifles headquarters in Shillong with the attendance of senior officials, current serving members and retirees.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the Samman Samaroh is a tribute to the unwavering commitment and exemplary service of the 119 junior commission officers and other ranks who are retiring from the Assam Rifles on August 31 and underscores the organisation's deep respect and appreciation for the sacrifices made by its veterans.
Assam Rifles director general lieutenant general Vikas Lakhera addressed the gathering, reflecting on the rich legacy of the Force and the invaluable contributions of its retirees and affirming that Assam Rifles honours not just the service of the retirees, but the spirit and resilience that define the Force.
The PRO quoted the DG as saying that their (ex-soldiers) service has been a beacon of strength, and likened the ceremony to expressing gratitude for the unwavering dedication.
Informing that the event included a series of heartfelt tributes, awards and presentations to the retirees, acknowledging their distinguished careers and contributions, the PRO added that the retirees also paid tribute to the brave-hearts of the Force at Assam Rifles War Memorial, Laitkor, Shillong.
The retirees were also briefed regarding various welfare schemes for Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen as part of the event.
