RPF condoles demise of PLA member

Imphal, January 30 2025: The proscribed Revolutionary People's Party (RPF) and its armed wing People's Liberation Army (PLA) condoled the demise of its member, 2nd Lieutenant Henthoiba, who, according to a statement issued by RPF, died during an attack planned by Special Force of the Indian Army on January 27 .

The RPF statement condoled the 2nd Lieutenant and offered revolutionary salute for the supreme sacrifice he made in the 'war for independence' .

It also shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family, relatives and friends.

Recognising his dedication to the movement and valour, the organisation awarded him the rank of 2nd Lieutenant posthumously, the statement added.

Henthoiba, real name Salam Nganba Meetei, was the youngest of three children born to Salam Inaobi Meetei and Ibecha Leima of Komnao Makha Leikai, Kakching district.

He successfully completed basic military training on September 20, 2023, and was inducted into PLA with Army no A-3362 .

"(I) joined the freedom movement to liberate my motherland from the colonial rule," was the word he said while joining the organisation, the statement said.

During the basic military training, he displayed agility and skills, due to which he was provided instructor course and later assigned the duty of instructor at the training centre of PLA .

He was a cool-headed and dutiful person, who had high regards for his seniors.

He always accepted any assignment given to him to his full vigour, and fought valiantly till his last breathe.

May his soul rest in peace in the lap of Mother Manipur, the statement added.
